A Little History About Downe.

Downe, formerly Down. is a small Village in Greater London, England, located within the London Borough of Bromley but beyond the London Urban sprawl. Downe is about 3.5 miles south west or Orpington and about 14 miles from London. Downe was the home of the famous Scientist Charles Darwin who lived with his Wife at Upper Gower Street until September 1842 then moved to Down Hose to accommodate his growing Family.
